Finally it looks like they're slowly getting rid of the huge scaffolding in front of my work. They've been cleaning the smog stains off the building for the past 3 months -- although I really can't see much of a difference.
At any rate, one of the workmen hung his goggles up on the scaffolding and I shot it during a smoke break with my PN2011. I think this is my favourite of the Vivitar shots so far. As it's a "focus-free" camera, I had to apply a little bit of gaussian blur to the background to shorten the depth-of-field and draw attention to the subject.
I finally got a new scanner too -- I risked frostbite and picked up an
Epson Perfection 3170 yesterday at
OTA Computers. I've yet to set it up, but I'm itching to get going with it. It's got a negative/slide adapter, so it's going to pay for itself pretty quickly in the money I'll save not having to get prints. Top selling point: ability to scan in 120 size negs/slides. Time to throw some more rolls in my
Mat!
p.s. If you're in Toronto, OTA still had one more when I was there. And at $279CDN, it's $20 cheaper than Vistek, and $40 cheaper than at Henry's...
