In front of a building on Yonge St. near King. I'm a bit tardy this week with the
PhotoTime Tuesday challenge, "patriotic colours". Better late than never as they say. XP'd in PS. And while you're here, make sure to check out
Rannie's entry -- talk about wow.
I just got this week's
Photo Friday update too -- the theme over there is "abstract". A broad theme, I think it has the potential to inspire some amazing shots. But at the same time it also opens up the possibility for a challenge full of cliché. I haven't had a chance to check out any of the entries yet, but I get the feeling this week we're going to see a lot of accidental exposure and camera shake being passed off as abstraction. I've fallen in to that trap myself in the past, and to be totally honest I know I will again in the future. I may even do it for the theme, who knows. After all, there are lots of truly amazing shots that began as mistakes, so it's by no means always a bad thing.
I just somehow suspect we'll be seeing far less
Philippe Halsman and far more "oops, I dropped the instamatic".
Am I being unfair? I'm not sure. I guess we'll have to wait until next Friday to find out.
