The remnants of a chalk portrait at Yonge and Bloor. There was a fairly decent portrait of a baby just beside this neglected face. Good, but certainly no
Kurt Wenner.
I turned up the saturation and contrast a bit to bring the colours out of the concrete.
Also, I've been following a couple of new (as in "new to me") photoblogs lately. The first is Craig's
crumb trail, and his camera fetish easily puts mine to shame. He's even got two Minolta Autocords! The photos are an eclectic mix of styles and subjects, and his Black and White work especially is really cool. The second is
Esotericus, and it's and its a fascinating visual record of life in Chicago and beyond. He's also got a really good eye for
interesting juxtapositions.
Hrm, maybe I should start up a
hotshots type page, a la
Rannie.
P.S. Check this out. Epson's going to be coming out with a
Digital rangefinder that takes Leica M and L lenses! And if that isn't cool enough, I can't wait to get my hands on the new
mini digital Rolleiflex!
