Behind the parking lot at the distillery is what I always assumed was a junkyard -- a pile of old cars; everything from old Taxis to ancient Packards. Well, the other week Rannie and I went down the road behind it to take some photos from the other side and around the tracks.

As I was walking by the fence, I saw a couple of people in the gararge next to the cars and I called out to them from behind the fence. I spoke with one of the employees, and it turns out the place is actually a Marina -- they work on and restore old boats. The cars are just a "personal" (and apparently perpetual) project of the owner. After a couple of refusals, the employee finally agreed to let me in to take a few shots of the cars -- in exchange for me giving copies of the prints to the then-absent owner. I was told he'd get a kick out of it.

Unfortunately the light wasn't all that great, and I was stuck with 100 speed film. But I still managed to get a few moderately acceptable shots of the junkers, and finally satisfy my curiousity as to just what the heck the place was. Mystery solved.

Now I've just got to find a frame and get back there with the prints for the owner. A deal's a deal, after all.
