A woman walks by the spot where Sugstan Anthony Brookes was shot and killed by a police sharpshooter
yesterday morning. After attacking his ex-wife in the TD Center food court, Mr. Brookes made his way to Union Station where he randomly took a young woman hostage on the street. Alternating between holding his shotgun against her head and pointing it at police, he was finally taken out by a single shot to the head at around 8:50am.
By the evening rush hour, all that was left was a discrete chalk line marking where his body fell, and a small X denoting where the bullet landed. While it was the one story on almost everybody's lips as they passed by, most of the evening commuters didn't even notice when they walked over the spot where he died.
